Social media plays a vital role at Carnegie Mellon University, connecting us with students, alumni, faculty, staff, and key stakeholders through dynamic, unified channels.
Official university accounts must maintain consistent visual branding to project a cohesive identity.
Social media managers are asked to thoroughly review CMU's social media guidelines prior to establishing or managing any affiliated channel.
Icons
The Lettermark with unit name or abbreviated unit name in a circle is the university’s standard social media icon. If you are a primary unit or a recognized CMU organization, you must use the standard social media icon for all of your social media accounts. You can request a social media icon.
If you are not a primary unit, contact the UCM Social Media team to discuss the strategy of your requested channel. If you desire to use an icon other than the standard, you must demonstrate a need for a custom icon graphic.
Social media icons should not be used for any other purpose. Social media icons are available in the following three core brand color combinations.
