  • Endorsed (Custom) Marks

Endorsed branding provides an opportunity for select university units that face external pressures or funding requirements to create an identity mark outside of the standard unitmark architecture.

By partnering with University Communications & Marketing, eligible units can develop a distinct visual identity that stands out while leveraging the full prestige of the Carnegie Mellon brand. APPROVAL FROM A DEAN OR VICE PRESIDENT IS REQUIRED BEFORE REQUESTING A CUSTOM MARK.

Who is Eligible?

Eligible

  • Center
  • Institute
  • Lab
  • Academic program

While we strongly recommend that all primary and secondary university units use Unitmarks, we recognize that some centers, institutes, departments, labs or academic programs face external pressures for a custom logo. Any university unit that chooses to create a custom logo must have their dean or vice president's approval and submit an Endorsed Mark Request to UCM Creative.
